In other news...

  • Trying to decide whether to use Ruby or Python for my next project. Tough call. (And yes, it's pretty much down to those two, so suggesting others isn't likely to be too fruitful, even if it might be comedic).
  • Yesterday saw one very large step towards settling my financial situation, and dealing with all the debt I incurred while I was unemployed, but still supporting a household. Not the end, but the set up is almost over, and endurance portion can be started soon.
  • One word: Rollerrats!

One of the problems of having really smart friends is you don't always know what the hell they are talking about.

Hmm, yeah. Some of it is rather impenetrable unless you're inside a couple of special communities.

The first section regards two programming languages. Both have their supporters, and both have significant advantages. They both also have aspects that bother me a bit. But I am looking to expand my knowledge, so I can put up with some of that.

The second section isn't terribly opaque, I hope. Finances and debt consolidation loans and so on. I don't like to go on about them in significant detail in a very public forum, but as I said, things are in hand to get payments under control.

The final section was just plain silliness. It's a throwaway reference to an online game I've played in the past and have revisited recently. The rollerrat is an interesting creature in the game. It does roll when it is attacking and has an odd steam-whistle sounding trumpetting warcry. It's one of the amusing little things about the game that I liked. I don't know if I'll stay with the game for a long period, but it's a nice sense of deja vu to return to old haunts.
